Doggone KITCHENAID MIXER! Stuck halfway up! Revenge of the home-made marshmallow!

Okay, I had my four year-old Kitchenaid "Professional 6" 525 Watt Mixer fixed by a licensed repair shop last year -- the supposedly bigger engine was DOA after mixing up one batch of homemade marshmallows -- and a few months later, the scraping motion seemed too strong and now the bowl's up/down lever won't BUDGE! I can push the bowl up and down most of the way by holding the bracket, but that won't work for actually, you know, MIXING anything, cuz it won't stay up! Arrrgh.

I have tried squeezing a few drops of Liquid Wrench "in" to the v. tight joint where the lever goes into the arm, but that has only gotten me a half-inch's play in the up/down mechanism, and it's still really rough going.

Any ideas, other than taking it back to the licensed repairfolks and getting all dewey-eyed?

I wanted one of these things for years, and now I feel betrayed.

Pouting,
liser
