Doctoring up TJ's Turkey Gravy

empecot | Nov 18, 2006 10:18 PM

I'm deep frying a turkey this year so I won't have any pan drippings to make gravy.

I saw a carton of Turkey Gravy at Trader Joe's yesterday and decided to give it go, but I'm looking for some suggestions for making it taste less store-bought.

I was thinking about somehow incorporating the giblets and scraps from the bird before frying it, but I'm not really sure what the best way of doing this would be.

Any ideas?
