For all you chowhounders that go by a hole-in-the-wall divey establishment and your brain goes "hmmmm wonder how their food is?"
-- This post is for you!
La Corinta Restaurant and Market
7011 Canoga Ave. Canoga Park
I came in because their sign says "hand made tortillas" and I wasn't disapointed. I had the Huevos Rancheros ($3.49!) - beans were not heavy and lardy, rice was very fluffy and tasty, eggs perfectly cooked, and a jalapeno salsa and gave it just the right kick! Tortillas were hot, soft-almost airy and perfect with the rest of the food!
Next visit will be for the chilaquiles, or the various specials that are hand written on a white board right by the cash register. Their soups of the day look good too - caldo de pollo, albondigas, menudo, etc.
You can see the kitchen and all prep work and fresh produce that they use. It's a cool little joint, great food, great price.
Enjoy the food...enjoy the experience.
