Dissapointing Lunch at La Duni

Mira | Jul 1, 2005 04:54 PM

Went for lunch with a friend at La Duni Mc. Kinney today - I got Pabellon Criollo and she Tacos de Picanha. My grilled, hand-pulled flank steak did not taste fresh and lacked in taste. Her picanha beef strips were very tough, dry and rubbery.

For appetizer we shared the Planton Campero. It's a variety platter of plantains, queso fresco, patacones, cheese arepitas, empanadas, yucca fries, and duni onions. The only redeeming item was the plantains.

Service was slow. After being left alone for 20 minutes (despite our looking around indicating that we're ready) we eventually hailed one of the staff to put in our order.

All in all: dissapointing. So much so that we didn't even want to linger and try their supposedly to-die-for desserts.
