New (to me) Dish at Quingdao

Scrubjay and I tried the "potatoes with hot pepper" dish last night. Long thin strips of potato (like 1/4 of the thickness of a french fry) lightly cooked, tossed with sliced hot pepper, the whole dish tasting of that wonderful smoky (dry-fried?) wok flavor. The first bite seems weird b/c, as Scrubjay said, you would have cooked the potato longer yourself, but it got so addictive.

Also had the pork with cilantro which was fab - not just leaves, but lots of bright green cilantro stems. Wonderful flavor.

Dumpling skins seemed a little thicker than normal, but that didn't stop us (okay, me). Pork and green bean is the bomb. 2 dishes and dumplings: $23 before tip.

I (heart) Quingdao.
