Dish of the Month VOTING, August 2018

masha | Jul 25, 201807:47 PM

Welcome to the voting thread for the Home Cooking Dish of the Month (“DOTM”) for August 2018. The purpose of this thread is to cast votes to choose a dish that we all can cook and report on during the month of August.

Huge thanks to everyone who participated in the nomination thread for August. We nominated 11 different dishes. You can view the entire nomination process here,

The 3 dishes with the most nominations were ICE CREAM (with 8 nominations), GRANOLA, including Granola Bars (with 7 nominations), and TOMATO PIE (also with 7 nominations). We will be voting among these three dishes to select our August DOTM.

To Vote for your preferred dish, please click on – i.e., “heart” – the post below identifying the dish for which you’d like to vote.

Only one vote per person, please.

If you participate in the Voting, please plan on trying to prepare the selected dish at least once during August (although we know that stuff happens and sometimes the best-laid plans go amiss).

Please reply to this original post instead of replying to one of the nominations, If you have questions, or want to discuss dishes, This will keep the nominated dishes all posted together at the top of the page. Remember that clicking a heart won’t result in following a thread; if you wish to keep updated on new posts, just click “follow” under the title of this post.

If you’re new to Dish of the Month, or new to Chowhound, or if you’ve been lurking for a while, it’s a great time to join this series. Vote for a dish and join us in preparing and discussing that dish during the entire month of August.

Voting will be open until Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 5:00 pm EDT (2:00 PDT; 10:00 pm GMT.)
In the meantime, please visit the DOTM thread for the July 2018 for Stone Fruit Cake and join in the baking,
