It’s nomination time here at Dish of the Month! What dish sounds especially exciting to cook together this month? There have been so many interesting nominations in the past year that came close to being Dish of the Month but didn’t quite make it. Will a bridesmaid finally become a bride?
If you are new to Dish of the Month, here is how it works: You can nominate as many dishes as you’d like. Just be sure to put your nominations in ALL CAPS. There will be a nomination period (ending Monday morning), and then I’ll let you know that the voting thread has been put up, and we’ll vote on the top nominees.
We sometimes have confusion over what makes a dish. A dish is loosely defined as an ingredient and a method of preparation. So while chocolate is not a dish, chocolate mousse is. It doesn’t have to be terribly specific, but making it clear what ingredient you’d like, and what the preparation is (we all know what a soup or cake is, for instance) will make for the clearest nomination, and such a nomination is more likely to entice others to join you in nominating it. For some dishes, both the ingredients and the technique are implied, such as cassoulet or jambalaya.

Nominations will close at 6:00 a.m. eastern time on Monday, August 27. The voting thread will go up that morning, and voting will run until 4:00 pm on August 31.
