Dish- Hartford

Our party of 8 had dinner last night at Dish. Service was incredible, very attentive and quite witty. Atmosphere was industrial trendy. Nothing that you would not find at any newer restaurant in any city.

The very big issue we had was a food allergy. We had not only gone ahead and spoke to someone in person a few weeks ago about a seafood and sea salt allergy, but we had called again a few days before to confirm that this would not be an issue.

As we all ordered, the member of our party with the allergy brought it up to the server. He came back from the kitchen and let us know that everything they cook contains sea salt. Needless to say, we were very disappointed. We sent the server back to the kitchen to find out what he could eat and was told that his only option was a ribeye.

I would say fair to good. Nothing was exceptional. Oysters on the half shell came with some wonderful sauces but none really hit the mark. 3 meals came with mashed potatoes and they tasted very different on each plate, not flavor, but consistency, almost as if they were made in completely different kitchens.
Dish Bread was flat, toasted bread with lightly seasoned melted cheese, althoug the menu indicated Boursin cheese, we all agreed that what we had was most certainly not Boursin.
Salmon Wellington was an interested dish although there was a hint of chlorine that turned my opinion of it instantly.
Prime Rib was the Daily Dish and both members of our party that had it says that is was good.
The Bacon Bordelaise sauce that was on the plate with my filet mignon (6oz for $26, no side) was flat and oddly served cool.

We did not have time for dessert as we had tickets to an 8pm show.

Dish did not deliver for us and we will stick with tried and true favorites in Hartford in the future.
