I'm interested in trying the 'degustation' menus at some of the nicer places in Vegas; for example, the new Atelier at the MGM. (link below). I'm new at this level of dining... I mean, real knife-and-fork type eating. How exactly does a degustation work? Do you get some of everything, or do you choose one from each section of the menu? Do you just say, "I'll have that degustation thing, podner" and they serve you up omikase-style, so to speak? How is a tasting menu different. Isn't there another type of menu, the Prix Fix or something? Dumb it down for me, pls.
