While driving to Boerne yesterday I stopped in O'Briens in Bergheim. This is on SH 46 about 10 miles west of US 281, midway between Bulverde and Boerne. What a treat, not exactly what you expect in small town Hill Country. Some standard TX fare, steaks and seafood etc, but also many other choices. They're open for lunch and dinner, lunches $7.99 and up. Dinners about $9.99 and up.

For lunch I had a chicken breast with artichokes and capers in a lemno butter sauce with a mixed vegetable side, $8.99 IIRC. Stopped in later on the way home and sampled two desserts (couldn't make up my mind) blackberry cobbler and a PUMPKIN bread pudding.

BTW, it looks like reservations are probably in order for weekend evenings, they were filling up by 6:15 when I left.

I can't find the menu I brought home but they do have a website. They have live music a couple of nights a week also.
