I've had several wonderful lunches at Gregoire's, including this month's pork patty sandwich, so my hopes were high when I phoned in an order for the short ribs a la bourgignonne from the December dinner menu. They were almost inedibly greasy! The bacon and onions were swimming in the ooze. I can't think that this was a result of the order having to sit while I drove over to pick it up. The greasiness was clearly intrinsic to the dish, or at least the serving I got. Did I just get a disgusting anomaly, or has anyone else encountered this? It certainly makes me think that I'm going to stay away from braised fatty cuts and stick to leaner rilled offerings in the future.
