the many recommendations here for suriya enticed myself and a companion to try it out last night. i will not be returning.
the staff (nicely) pushed the specials pretty hard, even after we declined.
we had the tom kha gai, which was pretty good and had a nice tang. the soup came out so fast after we ordered that it was clearly simmering in the kitchen, but i would have gotten this again.
then we had the emerald noodles, which are a "house-made" rice noodle that comes with various vegetables in a thin, sweet sauce. it was ok. the noodles were clearly undercooked (to me) and took some effort to chew. perhaps that is how they are supposed to be?
we also got the green curry chicken (gaeng keaw wan). thought the sauce was pretty good, especially the eggplant pieces. the curry was bright green, unlike other green curries i've encountered or made. the downfall came with the discovery of an entirely raw slice of chicken in the curry. after encountering the first one, i fished out another 4 pieces, all totally raw.
i let our waiter know, and he offered free dessert. i politely told him that i didn't think it appropriate to pay for a dish that potentially was going to give me food poisoning. albeit quite reluctantly, they removed it from the bill. we did, however, tip as if it was the whole bill; the raw chicken was not the waitstaff's fault.
