Disappointing experience at Lumiere's....

Lani | Sep 26, 2002 12:50 PM

I was just in Vancouver last week for for my honeymoon. We stayed at the new Opus Hotel in Yaletown, sampled the lovely restaurants in the area (Enoteca, Glowball), returned to our favorite sushi restaurant (Sakae on Thurlow) and tried some nice gelato(Mondo gelato on Robson). Our concierge at Opus told us we had to try Lumiere. So we went, and disappointingly it was the probably one of the worst meals I've had this year. The food was good, but not outstanding, the service was extremely pretentious, and I felt for those two reasons alone that the prices were unjustified. I've had better price fixe meals at Cascadia and Nishino's in Seattle, and Tojo's in Vancouver, and this just didn't leave me at all floored. Anyone else had a disappointing experience?
