I recently had dinner at Villa Sorriso in Pasadena and was disappointed with my experience there. Although I liked the ambiance of the restaurant and thought that it was a warm, inviting space, all that wasn't worth the $60+ I spent on my meal.
First, the service was not very good. I had to hunt down the waiter continuously to get my water glass filled. As for the food, first, the tapinade and the olives that came with the bruschetta appetizer was very salty. My lobster bisque also was salty and had a fishy taste to it. The roasted chicken that I ordered for my entree was very dry and chewy. The only part of my meal that I did enjoy was the dessert, a cool and creamy sorbet.
I did hear some good things about this place from a couple of friends and honestly, I think they were off their rocker to recommend this restaurant. All I know is that I won't be going back to this restaurant anytime soon.
