Braved the cold yesterday to have lunch at Cafe El Cubanito on Henry Street, for the second time. Was hoping for the seafood soup (sopa de mariscos) to warm me up, but unfortunately there was none. They had a generic ham-and-cheese sandwich on the menu, but not a classic Cuban sandwich with pork, pickles, etc. So I ordered some kind of sandwich with shredded beef, tomatoes and mangoes, but the meat was too gloppy with mayo. Overall, I was disappointed.
If I go there again, I hope to try the seafood soup, or else I'll get the ropa vieja, which was very good on my first visit.
By the way, someone posted about a new restaurant called Paradiso 161, supposedly at 161 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn, but I couldn't find the place. Is that really the address??
