Last year, I had trouble finding traditional citron presse in cafes in Paris and other parts of France. I was offered lemon sodas, but very few cafes seemed to bother with the real deal. Was I just in the wrong places or is it harder to find than it used to be?
Another change I noted is that if I ordered "un cafe" after dinner, the waiter would frequently ask if I wanted American coffee or espresso. I appreciate their making sure what I wanted, but that was something I'd never experienced before. Anyone else have that experience?
