Dirt Cheap Eats in DC - Episode 2: Young's Deli (Korean) in NE

After the Post Food section article about Capital City Market near NY Avenue Metro, and after all the positive comments I read in chowhound about Young's, I gave it a go for lunch a few days ago.

In a word: TERRIFIC.

And CHEAP! $6 for entree (pork with a couple veg), rice and 3 Korean sides (marinated bean sprouts, cabbage, and egg & seaweed pancake) AN ABSOLUTE BARGAIN. Tho be warned, it's a real hole in the wall (but very friendly and helpful cashier tho who will explain the dishes)

The food is made fresh to order, my entree was not sitting on a steam table under some heat lamp.

I spent some time after the meal walking around Capital City Market, bought some asparagus, bagged peeled carrot pieces & bananas from markets such as Sam Wang's & Mexican Fruit. Again, dirt CHEAP.

Then a quick bop into Litteri's down the street - nobody mentioned they sell Italian wines for under $7 a bottle. Or all that dried pasta and sauces! Next time I'll try their Italian sub...

From the Metro station, head to NY Ave, take a right, then a left on 4th or 5th Street.
