Dinner report at Teatro...

Went there last night with another couple to celebrate their recent wedding. It was their first time there but we've been there before. They usually don't go out all that often in Boston. All in all it was a good night...certainly for the newlyweds. We got the calamari and antipasto apps. Very positive responses on both items. I had the crispy sole. OK but nothing to write home about. My wife that the orrechetti (sic) pasta dish. She loved it but couldn't come close to finishing it as it's a large amount of filling food. The new husband had the chicken lasagna. Rave reviews on that. The new wife had another seafood pasta dish (can't recall the name) but she too thought it was excellent. We had a bottle of Falesco Merlot for $47. It was ok in my mind, a strange aftertaste but I didn't send it back since the others liked it. Finished the evening by sharing 3 desserts. The rum cake was very flavorful. The total tab came to $229 w/o tip. I'd recommend the place for a fairly casual dinner but there are a lot of other choices out there for similar or better cuisine in that price range.
