Dinner rec in the village

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster who finally has a scenario that I need some advice about. My aunt and her 86 year old mother are in town for the week, and are taking me out to dinner on wednesday. My aunt's mom hasn't seen the village, and wants to get some idea of what it's like. The three of us all love to eat, so are looking for a place that a) is in the village, b) has excellent food (any type...probably more the american/italian/french thing than anything TOO different) and c) is in a location that we can walk around a bit after. I live in the east village, and am mostly familiar with the places over here, but I'm not sure that the facial tattoos and such in this neighborhood are ideal. Anyone have any places that may work? And any ideas of places that we could get a drink before? Any idea of how expensive the Tasting Room is? I'm open to all ideas...we just want a great meal in a great location without COMPLETELY breaking the bank.

thanks a lot,
