My girlfriend and I went to a belated V-Day dinner at Osteria in Palo Alto on Friday night. I wasn't all that impressed. The food was good -- we had a pesto-y type sauce with artichoke hearts and stems that was good as an appetizer, with each a different type of pasta which was filling and good. (I don't totally recall what we ordered). However, the service left something to be desired. The waiter rattled off the specials really quickly, and didn't seem to pay any attention to us. I thought maybe he was in a bad mood or something, but he seemed to be laughing with some of the other customers, so I don't know. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was something mor -- and I realized that service can go a long way. It didn't really make me want to go back. Anyone else have other opinions/stories?
