I had dinner last night at Musha in Torrance with two Japanese friends. When we arrived, there was one table of six Japanese men dining towards the front near us and the rest were parties of two or three towards the back of the restaurant. We started with the pumpkin spread with crackers and an order of poki. The spread was very good and not overly sweet, but we all thought the poki was a little too salty. We then had the beef tenderloin with ponzu sauce that you grill at the table yourself, which everyone enjoyed and probably was our favorite dish of the night. An order of sauteed aparagus and mushrooms came out at the same time. One friend thought it was too buttery for her, but I liked it due to the strong garlicky taste :) We then had the chilled bean noodle salad, stewed pork with potato and egg, and ended off with the cheese and bacon risotto that was brought out in a hollowed out chunk of parmesan reggiano. All in all, it was definately a positive dining experience and I wouldn't mind going back again to try some more dishes. With 2 glasses of wine, the total check for the three of us including tip came to $71.
