Everyone has to try this place! From the charming waitstaff to the completely comfortable rooms, everything works, IMHO. Have the corn soup poured over tiny fried claims, or mussels with pernod, or the perfect sweetbreads, or the duck breast, or the halibut, or the.... or the.... The menu is small and exquisite and, thankfully, there are no recited specials. It's BYOB, everyone there is happy. It's another Birchrunville Cafe. On the way out, I stopped at the window to compliment the chef -- I told him I enjoyed it more than Le Bec Fin, which I did (my only memory of my last meal at Le Bec Fin was dozens of waiters flying around serving stuff with foam and attempting to get everyone out by the next seating). He gave me a great look with an eyebrow raised in disbelief, but I think he liked hearing it.
