4 of us (all women) will be in Lucca for 2 nights to witness the Luminaria Sept 13. Due to the crowds, we will be reserving our restaurants in advance (the processional starts at 8 pm, not sure how to be finished eating by 8?)
. Our hotel gave us a list of the top 4 restaurants:
Buca Di Sant'Antonio, Il Giglio, All'olivo, Il mecenate. I have eaten twice at Buca di Sant'Antonio and each time was underwhelmed with menu options (and they seated us in the lower level the second trip--- the ambiance upstairs is so much more desirable)
All of us are very squeamish and want to avoid most seafood, anything raw. Rabbit, pigeon, tripe are off the list also. (although I love wild boar ragu)
I would also like to add Da Giulio and Da Pasquale to the list
Where do you think we could find the best pasta for our very American (unadventurous) palates within the walls?
