Over the years The Elms has always been one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I had dinner on Saturday and came away mildly disappointed.
The restaurant has no energy or personality. We were met by the Manager who acted like he was on cruise control, no emotion or feeling. The waitress could have been from a local diner. There really wasn't a great choice of apps. Mostly soup & salad. They had a Shrimp Cocktail, my wife and I shared. The choice of entrees were ok, not great. They were very nice and checked with Brendon and I was able to get a Buffalo steak not on the menu. I brought a bottle of wine and they charged $25 corkage. The food was just ok. The total came to $170 with tip.
The restaurant really needs a infusion of energy and money. The whole restaurant needs a physical makeover. New drapes, chairs, etc. It also needs a staff with more energy and professionalism.
