I will be in Manhattan with a friend next weekend. I am looking for a place to have dinner in the Central Park area. Actually, we stay in the hotel with the Alain Ducasse Restaurant, but unfortunately I suppose that we a) cannot afford ADNY and b) wouldn't get a table having no reservation so far.
What we are looking for is a nice restaurant, serving good food, for about 100$ per person including wine. In terms of food quality versus atmosphere, food quality is more important. The place shouldn't be too business-like, but because we are both male, it doesn't have to be utterly romantic. ;-) Any kind of cuisine will be fine, except Asian.
As it is my first time to the US at all, I am not sure about the dress code in NYC restaurants. So if there are special requirements (tie, coat) in a restaurant you recommend, please tell me about it.
Any recommendations will be appreciated.
