Dinner for 40

am | Feb 7, 2005 10:48 AM

I am trying to organize a dinner for about 40 people and don't want to spend much more then $6,000. It is for an important business client.

I need a restaurant that would close for the night (probably a Tuesday) or one with a large enough private dining area to accommodate 40 people.

Right now the leading candidate is Perigee. I have considered, called and ruled out Susur, Lee, Splendido, and Avalon (all too expensive).

I was thinking of calling George, Rosewater, Biff's, Bistro 990, Chiado, Joso's, Mistura and Starfish.

Are there any other restaurants I should consider? I would appreciate any comments or suggestions from anyone that has planned something like this. Or any comments about any of these restaurants ability to cater to a larger dinner party.

Any comments appreciated!!

thanks
