Dear Chowhounds!
I will be in Manhattan next Wednesday 21 - Friday 23. I will be eating alone - is there anything I should know about this? i.e. bar or table service when I reserve for dinner?

Budget: lunch 25.00 or less/dinner $50 - $75

Tastes: Italian/French/Eclectic/Indian/Thai/Greek

Breakfast: Wall St./William Street area ?

Lunch : Theatre District (W 45th area)?
Upper East Side (84th & below)?

Dinner: Lincoln Center area/Meatpacking District/
Clinton/Tribeca/SOHO ???

Service: I will be eating at 6:00 each night,in order to get to 8:00 show and a 2:00 matinee @ Al Hirschfeld

*** GREAT FOOD is on top of my list, ambiance? not as big a deal, somewhere used to dealing with solo diners perhaps? or is that a given in most of Manhattan's restaraunts?

thank you so much for any help you could give me! What a great resource this message board is!
