Dining Alone - Short Report

Thanks for all the suggestions for eating alone.

The first night I wandered into Le Paradis. I'm not really that into bistro fare, but this place was terrific. Excellent pate and the lamb shank with acorn squash and cabbage was great. Also a good selection of wines by the glass at reasonable prices. The only disappointment was the cheese plate for dessert. The portion was easily enough for two, but the cheeses were nothing to write home about.

My second night I decided to take in a show, so I went to Superior. I wasn't real hungry, so I just had a plate of Mussels. They were great, and the shoestring potatos that came with them (sweet and white combined) were the best I've had. I was sort of skeptical because of the touristy location, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Both places were happy to serve me at the bar, and I really prefer that to dining alone at at table. I met some nice people and had some great dinners.
