Dining on Maui

bringiton | Jun 16, 2014 10:17 AM

We will be visting Maui next month and we be staying in Kapalua but don't mind driving. We are pretty familiar with Maui, although we haven't been in the past three years. We love everyting from fine dining to shacks on the side of the road, so long as they have good food.

Any suggestions for "real" Hawaiian food? We generally visit Aloha Mixed Plate and DaKitchen. Any other places we should try? I would love to try a Luau sponsored by a local church or something like that where there are few tourists.

Also, we generally go to the Plantation House, but I heard that they had some pretty significant changes. What do you think?

We always visit Mama's Fish House, Sansei, the Paia Fish Market and the Gazebo for breakfast. There appear to be some new places close to Kapalua, such as Shark Pit, Miso Phat, Iron Imu BBQ and the Huli Huli Chicken Shack. Any other suggestions? Sorry in advance if this has been covered before and I appreciate any feedback you provide!!!
