First, thanks a lot for the useful information and I have read and learned a lot from the discussions here. We are flying from nyc and will be staying in Lisbon for 5 days in April. This will be our first visit to Portugal. So far I have planned for the following restaurants on our list and was hoping to add another one or two.
Dinner: Solar dos Presuntos, BELCANTO, ALMA, O FAIA,
Lunch: Ramiro, Mercado Ribeira, Cervejaria Buzio (sintra)
I'd think we are kind of well travelled and in general enjoy sitting in a fine restaurants for dinner when we are on a trip. We have no problem with tasting menus and small dishes. However, we often find many of today's famous gastronomic restaurants not satisfying our tasting buds. Sometimes we get bored too. With that said, we dont know whether a famous restaurant is good or bad until we try it ... Restaurants with superb Ingredients and these with local specialties are most appealing to us. Take NYC restaurants for example, I really do not get the hype over EMP. The first couple times we went there, it was interesting and good was OK. Then after the renovation it has become more boring with less energy (as we feel) and no creativity. We liked Larsarte in our recent trip to Barcelona, not overly interesting, but food was decent.
What other restaurants in Lisbon would you recommend, in addition to these on our list to complete our Lisboa dining experience? I have considered the minibar and 100 Maneiras and was not sure these will be memorable.
Thanks a lot in advance!
