Dining in Brampton

luv2eat148 | Dec 2, 201109:07 AM

Just moved to Brampton recently, and this is what I've found so far... (I also do not enjoy Indian food)

For sushi - 168 Sushi Buffet - 168 Kennedy Rd. S. - This place is tucked away behind some other buildings, so it can be tricky to doesn't look like much from the outside. The sushi is very good.. we love it. Tempura is good too, and we love the chicken fried rice. The price is also reasonable $13.95 through the week for all you can eat! Akita on Queen is very nice - modern and more fancy.. but their sushi just isn't as good as 168.

For a decent burger - I think Sunny's is overrated... we went to the Frigate and Firken on Queen east of Rutherford.. the burger was very good! I just had a regular cheeseburger, but my husband had one that was fully loaded - Cheddar & Mozzarella cheese, bacon, chipotle onions, deep-fried pickles and a fried egg! He loved it! They have a nice mushroom brie flatbread starter as well.

Canellis - 252 Queen St. E. serves pretty decent italian food - we love the pizzas, especially the smokey bbq pizza, I also like the pasta with lobster in cream sauce.. although if you want an old school italian meal - complete with the guitar serenade - Don Valentino at Torbram and Queen makes you feel like you've been thrown into a time warp... very good pasta and yummy ceasar salad...bring breath mints!!
