DineLA wine pairings not equal

Had a very delightful wine pairing at Cut and at Spago for their $40 non sommelier (otherwise $65 for sommelier brand) pairing. Not expensive bottles but appropriate and very adequate pours for each of the five courses. We came away satisfied for the value/quality achieved.

Melisse had only a $55 option. Only 4 courses were paired and the pours were amazingly small and of "normal" vintages. Very disappointed. For $220 for the four of us we could've had a white and a red option that would've been better. Who knew? So.....drinker beware here.
