so who dined in a restaurant for thanksgiving?

we had a perfectly nice time at COWGIRL HALL OF FAME. the set menu food ($31/pp) was traditional delicious and the service great and well paced.

we started with hot biscuits and deviled eggs. a tasty and homey start. we laughed at two things, how the deviled eggs tasted great but didn't taste right until--hey that's dijon mustard in there not dayglow french's! the other funny thing was a couple nearby explaining to their native new york friends (going by the accent) what a deviled egg was.

next up was a nice greens salad and butternut squash soup w/ pepitas. the soup was creamy and very filling.

the main course of turkey, stuffing, cranberries and nothing fancy mashed potatos was, shame on me, just really like mom's. we had plenty for a doggy bag.

we ended w/ a slice of pumpkin pie and pecan pie. so do you pronounce it 'pee-can' or 'pick-on'? only room for a couple bites but both were good.

with drinks, a glass each of a warm cali pinot noir and tip the bill came to a reasonable $115.

i'd go again but it was so overly filling we were ill so we'll probably have chinese next year.
