Twenty Chowhounds divided up into two tables of ten for a dim sum-aganza at Mai Dragon in Hanover, MD near Ft. Meade. I didn't write anything down, but I think we ordered:
Baked buns with yolk cream filling
Egg custard Tart
Baked Crescent rolls with meat
Steamed turnip rice cake
Char Siu Bao steamed
Char Siu Bao baked
Jai Leung (rice noodle sheet over fried dough)
Bean sheet roll with meat stuffing
Bean sheet roll with shrimp
Sticky rice (pork and tiny shrimp)
Stuffed eggplant with shrimp
Chinese Green Vegetable (not sure which)
Fried Shrimp Balls (made with taro)
Folks seemed overall very pleased with the quality. One of my favorites was the first to hit the table, the fried shrimp balls. They are normally made with shredded wonton skins poking out like a porcupine. In this case, they were crackly strips of taro. I though these were a cut above. I also adored the siu mai here. I hadn't eaten chicken feet in years, and these were perfect. Simple but perfect.
The gathering at the 'other' table may have ordered a bit differently than we did. The cost was less than $16 per person, so this was a quality, fun, and inexpensive outing.
