I had dinner tonight at the Duck House in Reno. The chow fun was fine. But I saw a hand-lettered sign saying they had Hong Kong style dim sum. I ordered pork sui mai. Looked promising. They brought it out into the kitchen in one of those dim sum containers and put it in the steamer. Alas, when I got it, it was crud. No flavor and kind of goopy. I asked for one of the sauces they give you to dip dim sum in, but they had none. Which is a shame. It *really* needed it.
It was only one of about 16 dim sum they had. Others might be more promising, like pork buns. So the Duck House is fine for Cantonese or Mandarin style Chinese food. Inexpensive. But so far the dim sum is a let down.
