What's the difference between a coffee urn and a hot water urn?

zsero | Feb 7, 201708:12 PM     3

My air pump hot water urn seems to have died the death. The pump no longer pumps, and I've got no idea how to repair it. So I've been looking at prices, and noticed that when I search for hot water urns I get a lot of hits for coffee urns, which seem to be about half the price. Now I understand that coffee urns come with a cup-on-a-stem thingummy to make coffee, but suppose I remove it, what's the difference between that and a normal urn? Is there any reason not to use a coffee urn in place of a normal one? What am I missing?

Note: I'm tagging this "kosher" for the kosher community because those are the people who are most likely to understand exactly what I'm looking for.
