I've been eating pizza at Difara probably longer than most of his customers, since 1968. At one time, Difara was just a good place to have a slice after a good game of basketball down the block at Midwood field. At that time the neighborhood was a lot different and there were two good pizza places on Ave J. The other one was the Pizza Center, which at that time was just as good as Difara, and a lot cleaner.
Now whenever I go into Difara, and Dom knows me on a first name basis, I complain to him that his slices are extremely small and his pizza making is not consistent. An example of this is not putting on the expensive buffalo mozzarella cheeze on all his pies. I will admit though, his pizza is the best around, but when I hear people coming in from all over the place to wait an hour for a slice, only one thing comes to mind: there a very few quality slice pizzerias in this "gourment town" What gives?
