How to use old dial-style rice cooker for congee

I have been bequeathed with an old electric rice cooker as in the picture below. Since the user manual is long gone by now, does anybody know how to use the controls to make Cantonese congee/rice porridge/jook? I know for rice I turn the dial left to the "rice cook" setting, push down the lever, and let it stop by itself. But I am stumped by the 1-4 range of the congee cooking side.
