What should I take to my diabetic mechanic to say "thank you"

We are lucky enough to have found a car-repair place that we love...and in return for all the little 'extras' they do for us, we often drop them off some sort of gift, my husband often drops by some beer or I make a plate of cookies or baklava. Its a little family place, and they often had donuts or cookies or something sitting around.
Well, today I went in, without an appointment, and once again, they went out of their way for me...but this time, Chief told me he's just found out he's diabetic.
Can anybody recommend something to take to him? I could go the whole regular recipe/artificial sweetener route...but I suspect a lot of those recipes wouldn't be a great idea for a diabetic with or without real sugar. And I'd like it to actually taste good, after all.
I'm looking for something casual, with universal appeal, something the guys can just munch on as they walk through the lobby...but something that won't be bad for Chief. I'd appreciate any ideas.
