Over the past couple of months I have had a series of appointments in Yonkers and found myself settling my day at Dia & Noche Latin Cuisine on McLean Ave. in Yonkers, just off the Major Deegan. It is housed in the former J.J. Mannion's space and has been nicely renovated and redecorated. The daily happy hours start at 3 p.m. and the house is very generous with their happy hour menu. While enjoying my cocktail, I have snacked on their crunchy mixed Empanadas and Golden Squid with dipping sauce. All reasonably priced. Friendly staff, too. I might try their Dominican Steak or one of their Mofongo's down the line. I guess there is more to McLean Ave. than Irish... : - ) www.diaynocherestaurant.com
