[DFW] Chocolate Secrets

Chocolate Secrets, formerly in the West Village, opened a few days ago in a new location on Oak Lawn at Avondale. (See their web site below.)

Sampled a few of their truffles at the new location. They're large (about as big as a golf ball). But the enrobing chocolate was fairly waxy, ganaches were too dense and not sufficiently smooth, and the flavoring often overwhelmed the chocolate. At $3 a pop, one can do much better with a number of higher-end mass-produced chocolates.

Will Dallas ever get a true artisanal chocolatier?
