In the lamb thread from a week ago, zim mentioned the Halal butchers on Devon as a good source for ground lamb, and presumably other meats as well. Can anyone recommend one over another for price or quality?
I found a G Wiv post touting Devon Avenue Meats in Park Ridge, but I didn't get a sense of how it compares to other Devon butchers. Heck it doesn't even have to be Devon, but at 4.75/lb at Paulina and 5.99/lb. at Fox and Obel, I'm looking for something a little cheaper. Chicago Halal (I think) grinds, e.g. 7 pounds of lamb leg at 2.49/lb. in to 5 lbs. ground lamb--about 3.50/per.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
