Some of you may recognize the name of Nicasio-based Devil's Gulch Ranch from the many fine restaurants such as The French Laundry and Kin Khao that feature its rabbits on their menus. While it's had a presence at the Saturday Ferry Plaza farmers market in San Francisco and the Sunday San Rafael Civic Center farmers market, it has been hit hard by the decline in restaurant orders during shelter-in-place.
Devil's Gulch has launched a webstore that includes mostly meats from neighboring ranches as well as its own. You can buy a whole roaster pig, Liberty duck, pig heads, and many fine pork and beef cuts. Of DG's own products, I've enjoyed the rabbit and heritage breed Bresse chicken in restaurants, as well as its own pork that is finished and fattened on whey from Cowgirl Creamery that tastes so buttery. And I'm interested in trying the squab and black silkie chicken.
Orders can be shipped. Or picked up at the ranch in Nicasio and the two farmers markets. Local delivery within Marin County and Sonoma County is available.
