Non-dessert snacks for "rock" party - Advice please

AJ019 | Dec 8, 201907:50 AM     6

Hello everyone - In the midst of holiday cooking/baking prep, I need some some ideas for non-dessert snacks/finger food for my son's science class party celebrating geology/rocks.

I'd like to take something to balance all the sweet treats others are bringing. One thought is pinwheel hor d'oeuvres and 'squish' them to look like geodes, but I'm not creative and have limited geologic knowledge. :-)

Chilled/room temp would be easiest, but can keep warm if needed.

Of course because of school, there's a no peanut/nut policy, which I'm used to dealing with due to our family's own allergies.

Many thanks,

AJ
