What dessert should I make from my new books?

I'm charged with bringing a dessert to a potluck on Sunday night.

I want to make something out of one of my new books.

Here's what I'm looking at:

From Pure Desserts by Medrich: 1) Almond Cake with Crunchy Almond Crust (pages 72-74), or 2) Coconut Palm Cream Cake (pages 190 - 92).

From The Sweet Life by Zuckerman: Vanilla Brown Butter and Almond Tea Cake (pages 36-38).

From Desserts by the Yard by Sherry Yard: 1) Triple Silken Pumpkin Pie (pages 138 - 40) or 2) Orange Butter Cake (pages 100-01).

Has anyone made any of these? (I think JoanN may have made one of these if I am remembering correctly.) Any tips or thoughts?

(By the way, if you have the Yard book, look at pages 106-07 -- the Banana Brulee recipe. I'm sure that picture is why I bought the book. Unbelievable! One of our number on Sunday doesn't like bananas or I would be making that. Or the banana cream in cream puffs with toffee from the Zuckerman book. Both of those are going on the list to be made for another occasion soon.)
