Desperately seeking good ground coffee in Paris!

Louisa Chu | Aug 25, 200205:51 PM     13

Oh the irony.

You can walk up to any nasty little no name bar in this city and have some mean, gruff guy pull you a truly great cup of espresso, but it seems impossible to find any decent ground coffee to make a drinkable cup at home.

Help!

I thought I'd try some supermarket stuff. Everything else in the market is good. Horrible. Another brand. Even worse.

Trekked over to a nearby Columbus Cafe - Paris Starbucks - and got a very good cappucino but their ground coffee is still a bit bitter.

Have we just been too spoiled by Peet's?

And yes, Peet's does mail order to Paris. We'll just be paying more for shipping than the coffee itself.

Merci for any java help!
