Desperately need Phx area restaurant or caterer to provide delicious & affordable food for backyard party

I am in dire need of help. Background: I love to eat. I live in California & just got married. No wedding reception, no family present, just me & him at the courthouse and then out to a wonderful meal afterwards. In other words, my perfect wedding day. Well, when I told my mom (who lives in Scottsdale) she begged to have a small family get together in AZ to celebrate. Well, before I knew it, the “get together” has morphed into cousins flying in from NY, in-law dilemmas, and lots of potential food disasters. To the point, the only thing I care about is having extremely tasty food for this rapidly escalating, now catered backyard affair. I desperately want to keep it casual and requested Honey Bear’s (am originally from Phx but haven’t lived or eaten around there in many years,) but my mom is convinced that bbq is not “nice” enough & wants to go with some innocuous sounding catering company that will have pasta salad, bruschetta, & a generally anemic sounding appetizer type menu. I guess I am looking for some recommendations for restaurants or catering companies that offer delicious food that is casual and not too fancy (the budget per person is probably not huge) but “nice” enough to satisfy my mom. The food needs to be delivered to North Scottsdale, but not necessarily served. I should add that I like all types food, though I lean toward bbq and ethnic, but it has to satisfy my mom’s needs as I have quickly discovered that I have no real say. Sorry for the long story, but I would greatly appreciate any recs you can offer as I just want people to enjoy themselves, especially me and the new husband.
A grateful California hound
