Desi Dhaba- Shorty reporty

Sandwiched between a Taco Bell and a Pizza Hut, in this
strip development on Mowry ave in Fremont is this "Indian Fast Food and Sweets" restaurant. I stopped in for a prelunch snack and very much enjoyed my vegetable samosa and chole ( I needed something I could eat while driving..) If this simple dish is an indicator of the restaurants skill, I am eager to return- Piping hot- greaseless sturdy but not too hard wrapper with soft spicy potatoes and peas and spicy garbanzos. The menu features the usual suspects but also has a half dozen or so Chaat dishes all $3. Also has vegetarian and non-vegetarian thali plates for $5-6 The huge array of sweets are housemade and look fresh. My "sandwich Gulab Jamun (like it's older sister but smaller, twinky shaped and filled with a bit of cream/cheese?) was heavenly if you like these. Achingly sweet, squishy and syrup soaked with a pronounced floral/cardomon flavor and no discernable old oil taste.
Restaurant is simple but bright with safron/burnt orange colored walls and large dahlywood posters. Friendly folks. Kitchen looked like a family venture.

In the strip mall on Mowry Blvd that also has the safeway and Trader Joes
