We had our business xmas dinner here and since it's only 6-8 of us, it's tough to find a place within a certain price range that will take a reservation and put us in a corner so Yankee Swap isn't with everyone. So they said on the phone! First, my fault, didn't know this was just a pub - thought it was a country club. They didn't put us in the corner but did say as they were seating us, "this will be great as this couple will be leaving soon" - not sure what that really meant since they proceeded to seat people all around us from that point on. I really won't get into the food - rediculous! Almost inedible like stuffed mushrooms swimming in like a packaged nacho cheese sauce. Soooo sad to do this to good food.
Then midway through dinner, we fought the bar noise and speakers because they broke out in a trivia game!
I really should have asked my ch buddies. I was driven unfortunately by a price point and whether they would put us in a quiet corner - guess I learned my lesson. I had a hard time controlling the part of me that wanted to make a big scene but I did.
Geeeeze, until next year! Maybe if business is up in 2010, we'll splurg and step up to one of my favs in Manch: Z, Cotton, Richards
