I'm a foodie who would like some recommendations for the Denver or Boulder area. I live near Boulder and work in downtown Denver, but I don't mind driving for excellent grub. Here are some Colorado things I already like (as a reference):
*Tamayo in Denver (fantastic chipotle tamales, tortilla soup, and banana empanadas)
*Panzano in Denver (almost anything, but especially the summer menu that usually includes tortelli and insalata caprese with heirloom tomatoes)
*Q's in Boulder (especially the classic mango BBQ shrimp salad)
*La Bottega in Vail (amazing Italian food with seemingly nothing foul on the menu)
*Ken and Sue's in Durango (probably the best service we've received in years and a meal that was enticing from beginning to end)
*Flagstaff House in Boulder (for special occasions, of course, since I don't always want to drop that much money when dining out)
*Emiliana's Dessert House in Boulder (sadly now closed, but the entrees and desserts were killer--if anyone knows what happened to the chef, I'd love to know)
*Le Central (excellent French cuisine without an attitude and reasonable wine prices)
*Kevin Taylor's corn soup from Zenith! Is this on the menu at Restaurant Kevin Taylor? Is that worth going to? I liked Dandelion and Zenith, but didn't really care for Nicois.
*Where is Christopher Cina (former 4th Story chef?). That restaurant was fantastic while he was at the helm.
